    Thoughts on Banana prices
I really want to get into these guys. I'm wondering what people think prices are going to be like on 2012 males.

Around 15 to 30k each. Mike Willbanks just put 100,000 up for his two males this past year & prices have held pretty steady on these guys. Good luck it will be sometime before the hobbyist and small breeders can afford them. Might be like 5 years or so.

I think 15-20K-ish is still normal for females and males are 40K+. They're just now figuring exactly how the genetics work on these guys because they produce different genders so strangely.

    Kevin McCurley talked about it:

(It says Coral Glow but Bananas and Coral Glows are basically the exact same morph and might be)

Males are a bit rarer right? Jacks up their price like crazy. Though the females aren't "cheap" by any means. Too much for my small time budget

Prices will still be very high I'm assuming. 30k+ for males. When cost is so high and the market is so small, it's definitely not something I would be willing to invest in. Supply and demand are what drive prices and somehow I don't forsee enough of a demand to merit purchasing an animal for that price. Granted, supply on males is low, but I don't think there is a waiting list of people itching to get their hands on a 30k+ Banana male.

Atleast each year you see more and more being available im sure they will start droping like trivtrivsocal said in the next 5 years or so.

I think it's great that prices are still high on some mutations. When they are all easy to purchase, it doesn't leave one much to dream for, to work towards attaining.

:D that made me LOL!!! :)

    Yo the op..

Bananas are stunning morphs, but I do agree that demand Is down, though you could easily make money off of them.if you buy one.. I know a lot of hobbies are not in it foe the money but for people who run them as both a hobby and a business its different. I believe snake lab said he bought a spider back when they first became available? (Correct me if I'm wrong) but the.person easily got it back.

Now don't think I'm in it for the.money. no, I keep all my animals as a hobby, and breeding later will be a passion..

But yes, probably 5 years from now the banana will be easier to obtain for those of us who are at the bottom. :) I personally can't wait to get a pied......
