    Motorcycle wreck.
As you all might know my other addiction besides reptiles is motorcycle. I haven't been on the forum for a whip because I was in a bad wreck this last Saturday. I was driving threw an intersection when two teenagers ran a red light going 55 mph and t-boned me. It threw me about 50 ft onto the opposite sidewalk. My leg was so mangled that I had to be life flighted to a trama hospital in Dallas. I lost part of my right leg about half way from the shin down. So I am lucky that I got to keep my knee. I don't want pity or anything just thought I would let my fellow herpers know what was going on with me. You guys are an awesome group of people and I just thought I would share my weekend with you.

Wow that's terrible, you're lucky to be alive! It's sad this time of year how many idiots aren't looking out for motorcycles. My whole family rides, and I get so pissed off when I see vehicles tailgating bikes or changing lanes without even looking. Good luck with your recovery.

Oh, my. :( I'm so sorry. I wish you the speediest of recoveries and yes, you're very lucky you got to keep your knee, and I really do hope your knee doesn't cause you pain. My boyfriend's uncle was in a similar wreck, somebody in front of him changed lanes and then hit the brakes; he slammed into them going about 70 mph and flew over the front of their car, ~50 feet. They thought he would die overnight.
He didn't lose any limbs, technically...but in reality, he has. His legs pain him all day and all night to the point that he cannot work and can barely walk. He -should- be in a wheelchair or at least using a cane, but he's a tough military guy and refuses.
Motorcycle accidents often end up terribly grotesque and tragic. I'm very glad you're alive and I hope you do well! Best of luck to you and please keep us posted.
And some advice...don't be like the guy I talked about above...Accept help when you need it! It will help you in the long run. :)
Again, good luck, I command you to get better soon.
And...find those teenagers and throw them in the slammer. -_- Idiots...

Wow sorry to hear that, that really sucks. Hopefully the driver of the other vehicle learned a lesson here. I think motorcycles are cool but i would never ride one bc of things like things. Im not worried about me, but about other drivers out there being idiots. I wish you a speedy recovery and rehab Bob!

Bob, I ride too (Fatboy and a BMW sports tourer) and it seems that every day some bone headed driver on a cell phone just isn't paying attention to the road and tries to kill me. Sorry about your leg. It sounds like it is going to be a long recovery. Hopefully, you will be able to ride again.

Glad you are alive, best of luck with the recovery, and hopefully those teens get some jail time. I'm new on here, haven't seen your posts yet. I'll check out some of your threads.

Sorry to hear and wish you a speedy recovery. I used to have a Softail myself but had to get rid of it. So many times I remember cars cutting me or us off. Now that I am only on 4 wheels I always give the right away to bikes and keep eyes out for them whenever I see one in traffic nearby.
