Difference betwwen Sterilite bins and Rubber Maid bins?
I want to puchase new housing units and racks for my collection. I'm hearing different stories on which is best to use. I would appreciate some feedback on which is best. Also, I've heard that I should use flexwatt heat tape. How safe is it?

I used both brands and they both work fine. I didnt fid any huge advantages over one or the other tbh. Flexwatt is perfectly safe to use, provided you have it controlled properly with a thermostat

I use both, the only difference between them being which one fits in the rack. If you're ordering a rack and are wondering which one to get, I suggest going to your local department store and finding out which brands of tubs they carry and what the prices are. Then pick up some extra tubs so you'll have extras on hand in case the manufacturer decides to discontinue a certain style.

RubberMade changes the models slightly more often than Sterilite...but only slightly.

IRIS has been making the same size and shape tubs since Moses invented plastic to carry manna in...Just sayin'.

There are also online stores such as

    http://www.visionproducts.us/htm7/tubs.html And http://www.arscaging.com/arstubs.html

Which make their own tubs with the same dimensions as the iris tubs.
