How to keep the snake room cooler?!?!?
Can anyone give me a couple of pointers on how to keep my snake room cooler ? It doesn't have any windows so a window ac unit is out of the question. I just need to get it down about 10-15 degrees. Thanks so much,

Ps, i have 2 fans In there already

I had the same issue. Snake room is my basement. my solution was to install an exhaust fan in the ceiling and vented it outside like a dryer vent. It dropped my ambient temp about 6 to 7 degrees. and i have it on a timer that fires it about 5 times a day for 10 minutes. hope that helps.

Unless you can bring cooler air in from somewhere via fans(a cooler room down a hall, with a fan in each doorway to move the air), you will need to use a "room AC" or "room chiller" or "portable AC".

You could try a "swamp cooler" which uses wet padding and a fan... but it will make things extremely humid and may not drop the temps enough to be worth it.

Don't most portable AC units still have to be vented outside somewhere? I am facing the same problem this summer with my reptile room built in the back of my garage. I know the portable AC unit we use in the server room at my office is vented through the ceiling. Does anyone know of a specific portable AC model that doesn't need to be?

The unit my father uses in his garage is self contained. You just have to plug it in and place the water drip pan under it. Makes it possible to work in the garage with the door closed during Florida summers.

Those spot coolers work best if you can vent off the hot air. BTW, those two fans' motors may be giving off more heat than the air circulation is cooling.
