Frustration! 2nd week not eating.

Okay, so I've posted other threads about Baloo not eating but now I'm getting really frustrated. 3 wks ago I got her to eat a f/t rat pup but since then she hasn't eaten anything. I feed on Wednesdays so yesterday when she rejected the RP I offered the mouse that I had scented it with. No go so I placed both in her cage and after a couple hours I gave up. She's normally a good eater and the rats I'm offering are wonderful. Hell I want to eat them! hahahahaha. The husbandry is as follows: Thermostat = 87F, Ambien temp = 83F, Humidity = 55%

I'm really worried because she is 6 mnths old and only weighs 165g. Well I guess it's possible that I'm using the scale wrong but that's what it said. Here's a picture of her taken a few days ago. Please tell me if I need to be worried?

I would turn up the thermostat a few degrees, I like to provide a 90 degree hotspot.

I wouldn't be too worried, I'm 3 months in on a feeding strike with one of my males. It is very frustrating, but there isn't all that much we can do.

She's a ball python it's normal, my albino female will eat any time even in shed, my poss het will go 6 months with out feeding. Long as she's not losing to much weight she's fine, and will eat when she's hungry. And do as aaron said add a little more heat.

I have 4 of them on hunger strike for the last 2-3 weeks. I just offer at each feed and go from there.

I picked up a normal male last year in Jan. He went 6 months not eating. I was very worried, and tried everything. He ate like a champ in the summer, slowed right down once Nov came, and is has gone 2-3 months again. He is in the same environment as my female, and she eats once a week, no misses. I might as well call my male "Bear"....

Have you tried live? Live usually helps jump start a feeding response. I just got one of my boys back onto feed. He has been off feed since December and fed rats his entire life. I tried a live mouse and his usual rat at the same time out of desperation because he looked awful. And guess what! He coiled the mouse in just a few seconds. I've never seen him so enthusiastic about his food before. And right after the mouse, he surprisingly took the rat too.

Also, do you have a thermometer reading for the hot side? Not just the thermostat reading. Thermostat readings can be quite different from the actual enclosure temp.

I live in Arizona and right now our temp is coasting around 100F - 105F. It will get much hotter then that as summer approaches that's why I have the thermostat set on the low side. Should I still increase it? Also, Thanks everybody for the reassurance. I'll keep trying to feed her and if needed I'll feed live for a couple of weeks.

You're aiming for around 90 on the warm side and 80 on the cool side.

I'm not sure what the outdoor temps have to do with your thermostat setting unless you're keeping your snake outside???

No I don't keep her outside. lol I just thought the summers here are so hot and dry that it might affect the ambien temps in her cage but your right all it really does is make the air conditioner kick on more often. Anyway, I set the thermostat to 90F as suggested and I'll try to feed her again in a few days.
