bleach can work but you have to worry about residuals.

Mix mouth wash 50/50 to water and put it in a spray bottle.

smells great and alcohol content kills pretty much anything.

clean it with whatever and then put a small bag of charcoal in it for a couple of days to a week.
The charcoal will absorb what is left of the odors and can be used after unlike baking soda:gj:

Thats what I use to get the odor out:D
Regular cheap HEB brand, we started using it a couple of years ago in the kitchen.
Long story short, we have a lower cabinet that our trashcan is in and every once in a while we would get this funky oder of a mix of trash. Guess the wood would absorb the funk and is the humidity in the house got up ther, it would gas out the funk:confused:
We now keep a small bag in there and no more funky:D

Used it to get the odor out of my old deer freezer that someone left some scraps in after it was unplugged and left sitting in the sun:oops:

PitOnTheProwl is right, charcoal has been used as a natural deodorizer for millennia.

The other natural deodorizer that's been used since the dawn of time is the Sun. If possible, lay the fridge on its back with the door open in the Sun for a couple of hours.
