SO Excited- Medusa's first meal
Im so excited. We fed Medusa this evening- her first meal since we brought her home.
(We took everyone's advice, and fed her in her tank-even though Im still a little nervous about this, but learning to trust all you experts :)
Anyway, within seconds she scented the mouse (tiny mouse) made her way over, checked out her dinner and apparently it met her approval-
My two kids and husband sat there watching- so excited that she took it without hesitation, we've never watched a snake eat. My daughter (who the snake belongs to) said "Im SOOO glad I didn't go with a hamster as a pet- This is SOOO cool!!" LOL
THANK-YOU to all the support- we really appreciate it.
PS>For those who know the "Glue story" with Medusa- It popped off today- NO sign of damage at all.:gj:

Re: SO Excited- Medusa's first meal
Congrats, that is def a great feeling when they eat. I am in the same boat as you with a new snake. She ate for me the second time last night since having her and having her on a 5 day feed schedule. Only problem was she pulled the F/T back into her hide after constricting and had me wondering all night if she actually ate it lol. Guess she just wanted to keep me guessing until I checked this morning on her. Here is to hoping both of our snakes keep eating.

I still like to watch them eat! Also, I at first was worried about feeding live or in enclosure, but after some time here and experience, that's the way to go with no adverse affects. Bps don't get tank aggressive. Glad you are enjoying your snake, and welcome again!!!
:D
Thanks again for the welcome. After watching her eat, I think I would be more afraid to move her, after she ate. Plus once it was down, she crawled into her hide and has been there all night. (as far as i know) So not sure what she would have done, if I had her in separate feeding box.
My daughter took pictures of her snake eating to school today. I said "remember, other kids might not really enjoy looking at your snake eating, as much as you do!" I can see their faces now :O lol
