    BP just moody?
So I finally got my cage's temp/humidity in order, and yesterday was feeding day. I did a good clean on the cage, put everything back, and then fed him a little after. He took the food fine (Too fine maybe? He squeezed so hard the fuzzy's guts came out), and that was that. Since, however, he's yet to go back in to his hide on the warm side. Them temperature in the hide is fine, it's stayed at 90ish. He's staying on the cool side, though, squeezed between the glass and his humid hide, and has been there since late last night. Is this something I should keep an eye on or is it normal? Being a new bp owner means that everything scares me lol. Any advice would be great.

Nothing to be alarmed about :) ball pythons all have their own personalities, they all do different things. When mine eats, its like she wants to burn off the calories and literally does laps around her tub. Lol as long as your temps are good, there is nothing to worry about. Just let your BP do it's thing :rolleye2:

Thanks! Having never owned a snake before I think I'm panicking about everything. Appreciate it.

Hey no problem, when I first got mine I was a very worrisome owner lol. But once you learn your BP's personality, it's fun to watch all the crazy things they do :P

This is mine, she was DETERMINED to get under her paper towels.

Aww, what a clever girl. I'm jealous of you tub. I think once Max outgrows his tank I'm switching. Happen to have any pictures of the whole thing? I'm curious to see what it all looks like.

I'm thinking, too, that maybe the size of his food isn't large enough. He stayed pretty well hidden the first couple of days and now that I've gotten some good looks at his girth I think he could do with a size upgrade. He devoured that arctic fuzzy yesterday, so I might see what the next size up is .

Yupp here is my setup. It's a 28 qt sterilite tub I got from target.

The hides are from Reptile Basics, and the water bowl, leaves, and branch I just got from a pet store. The side with the leaves on it is where my UTH is, it is an 8x8 Exo-terra Heat Wave.

This is the thermostat I have my UTH hooked up to, it's cheap and does a pretty good job.

This is the thermometer I use. Got it at Walmart for 12$

This is a basic setup that works great. Very low maintainance and holds humidity extremely well. I use paper towels as my bedding because it's cheap and super easy to clean. I just replace the paper towels whenever my girls takes a poop.

Ahh, I really like the way you have this set up. It looks super easy. Definitely going to switch up once he outgrows his tank now. Thanks for the photos! :)
