what happens when i breed a....

my girlfriend wants a mid white pied female ball python... myself on the other hand like pastels and super pastels.. we have a baby male pastel . now ive been reading about HETS this and HETS that.... if we get a 100% het pied female and breed it to our male pastel when the time comes when they are old enough to breed.. what would the outcome be???????

What happens when i breed 100% hets to pastels.. Im not doing this for money making buisness, im doing this cause i cant afford a mid white pied that she wants and i want to get her one.. So im trying to make her one...

100% het pied x pastel would result in 50% het pied offspring i do believe. and you would get normals and pastels


You would need two 100% het pied to get your pied. But there is no guarentee that it would be mid white.

Add: If you just want a pied as a pet, you're better off saving your pennies and going to reptile shows for a good deal. By the time you put together the incubator and get a good thermostat for it, you're halfway to the cost of a mid-white male pied. I know you said female, but they don't exactly have different personalities based on gender, so I'm not sure that it should matter if you don't really care to breed.

A het is a snake with 1/2 of the genes needed for a recessive morph. When bred to another snake with the other half (they are identical halfs) a visual mutation is created.
