First ever clutch!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, she is still laying them, so I am going to go to school for a couple hours and leave in the middle of the day to come take care of the eggs. This is my first BP clutch, so I am very excited!

Now how long do I have to wait until the eggs hatch?

Not sure about the OP but I use paper towels and when it gets close to lay time I remove them so they don't stick to the eggs. I would do the same thing with newspaper if I used it. It is probably not that necessary but it makes me feel more comfortable to not worry about paper sticking to the eggs...

Well, for my first year breeding and a first time female, I did not expect this! 10 beautiful eggs, no slugs, all eggs have veins! They weigh in at 881 grams! The eggs are now all in an incubator, with the temp between 89 and 91.

I am concerned about the girl though, because she dropped all the way down to 1263 grams, and she was about 1600 grams when breeding season started. What should I start her feeding on tonight? She was taking medium rats before she went of feed.


Yep, it is exactly a Zombie said, I had newspaper there, but she burrowed under it, so I took it out when I saw she was laying.

Great first clutch. Before you offer food you should clean the tub and mom really good. She will probably not eat untill she no longer smells her eggs. After washing everything give her a day and try a smaller meal. Some females will start right and some will wait a little while.

How should I go about washing her?

I wash my females with dish soap just make sure you rinse her off thoroughly.

You can wash her in a spare tub or similar container. Put in enough water to reach about half way up her body and add a single drop of dishwashing liquid or baby shampoo.

Use your hands to wash her off and then let her crawl through a towel that you hold in your hands to dry off.
