    Help with themostat probe
Alright i know that the probe is to be attached to the flexwatt however how. 1 person said use foil tape then im told it will mess with the readings. So what do i use to get the probe to stick to the flexwatt also do i cover the whole probe or just the wire? any help would be apriciated im in the middle of setting up my rack

I prefer hot glue. no matter what you use you don't want to cover the probe itself as this can create false readings by trapping heat in.

Foil tape is made from Aluminum. Aluminum is a good conductor of both heat and electricity. when used to attach a thermostat probe, it can act like a heat sink. altering the probes readings.

ok im finished i used electrical tape to place the probe wire along the inside of the rack and left the probe uncovered i hope the tape holds it I have 11 inch flexwatt back heat so the tubs will not be going over the heat tape and i set the night heat at 88 and day at 93. I guess i will see how the temps are tomorrow when i get home. The Herpstat seems to be working just fine. im useing unprinted news paper for a substrate i have a friend that works at a paper printing place, is that good for the substrate? I cant wait to get everything tuned in so i can put my balls in i think they will like it better then the tanks i know i will.

There is no need to use a night drop. Check the temps inside the tub before you decide on the T-stat settings. Remember to check the cool end temp and air temps too typically in racks they come from the room temp. most use an oil filled heater on a on/off tstat. I like my Johnson but the Rancos are basically the same.
