tubs, uth, heat lamps

ok so i have my bp in a tank...this is what was given to me with him, my question is..if i put him in a tub..can i still use the heat lamp that came with him ...(so far no problems with temperature, or humidity)....or do i have to get a uth before i put in him a tub?

no the heat lamp wont work with a tub it will melt the plastic. Youll need an uth or flexwatt. You can use the same tstat though as the one for the heat lamp, no need to buy another

hat lamps are def hard to manage with a tub I'd agree the risk is not worth the effort. Tubs in cool rooms are very hard to manage they do not hold heat well and cool quickly. The tank offers more options for heating.

But many less options for maintaining proper humidity...

Temp issues are life threatening, humidity is not nearly as much, temps over humidity.

I’m not arguing that point, but I don’t see this as an OMG / 911 temperature emergency. All things will eventually need to be in balance. I've been down the road she's traveling.

I agree it is all balance. A well ventilated tub (as is recommended by the most knowledgeable breeders and vets I know of) is still a problem with humidity it dries out too. So all that is happening is trading one set of problems with lots of possibilities for another with fewer. There is a reason why racks are almost always kept in rooms that are 80ºF and 60% RH. It is about the only option to keep correct temps. With a single animal it is a bit over kill.
