    New Thermostat Questions for incubation
Ok so i borke down and ordered a Herpstat 2. First let me say im really excited it looks sweet. Ok next.. i plan on running my 3 racks off one side of it and my incubator off of the other side. I did the math and my racks total 500w and my incubator is only 2 ft of tape so thats like 40w.

    1) now my question is would that be ok to run them both off the herpstat 2?

2)also... im debating whether to switch my incubator to the new thermostat while i have one clutch of eggs cooking... what to you guys think?

3)where would you have the probe placement for the herpstat in the incubator the thermostat im using now it hangs dead center but with a proportional it may be different? just trying to figure out all my options.

    4) These eggs should hatch in about 3 weeks and i should have a week or two before any new clutches hit the ground would you just wait till then to switch?

i just dont want the on/off thermastat to end up screwing somehting up towards the end of incubation when i have a nice new proportional thermostat sitting right here a know?

    1. The herpstat 2 can handle 900 Watts of power, so yes you can easily run both your racks and the incubator.

    2. I would switch, the herpstat will do a much better job

    3. I would put the probe in the same place that you did with your old thermostat

I just bought the same t-stat for rack and incubator love it herpstat is all i will buy from now on i had a issue with an alarm and they quickly sent out the cable and firmware upgrade. Great customer service and quality products. You will be very pleased with it. My probe just sits on the rack about halfway up incubator.

    The probes are 12' long.
Yes, the Herpstat 2 can handle 900 watts total power but that is divided between the 2 outputs. Each output is capable of handling 500 watts max, so you may be cutting it close using it for all 3 of your racks, depending on your math. If it's that close you may want to contact Spyder Robotics directly just to make sure.
