Re: Scale count....
Best I can come up with would be some high quality pics?
I've tried it on a live house snake and it's an exercise in frustration.

the only thing I can think of is why?:confused:
I feel like it would take days! Plus I'd screw up and lose count or my place!

@ Derek :rofl::rofl: This is exacly what I need it for .. My "striped" House snakes with I have high Doubts are Lineatus...
I actually Found Quite reliable info about Hallowel's House Snake.. and everything Pointing that Marduk and Ishtar are B. Virgatus but too confirm I need scale count... And If That Be "Maybe Plausible" on Marduk.. He like chillin on my Hand.. on Ishtar that's Imposible

For Specie Indentification. B. lineatus and B.virgatus are Visually almost Identical and only one way to determinate specie is Scale count on middle of the body... Virgatus Have 23 Scales Lineatus 25-26... And there is No legitimate Descripion or Picture of Virgatus on the internet beside that info...
And for me starting Breeding Project I wanna make sure that both snake are actually same specie(i dont like hybrids), and I wanna label properly what I gonna sell in the future.

Re: Scale count....
Maybe set up a sheet of glass with the snake on top and take the pictures from below?

Wait until your snake falls asleep then turn it over very carefully without waking it and count them lol
jk but in all seriousness i think taking pics would be the best idea :)

Looks Like everyone (almost) think about Ventrals... but I'm actually talking about Body scale rows...
Bust out that camera of yours, and your awesome photo mojo....and take some macro shots. I'm sure you'd be able to get something that you could count. :gj:
