    Another feeding question.
Well my girl is 7 months and around 274g. She has eaten a small live rat for me two weeks in a row without any problem. I went to feed her tonight and no go. The rat was a little larger then the other two and I didn't realize until I saw them together. I think it was close to last weeks but maybe I should ask for one size down? The last small rats were just slightly larger than her widest. This one is just a touch larger still. I am not too worried because at least I know she has eaten but still a little frustrating. It is hard to judge the size of the rat because I don't know if you measure with the rats hind legs stretched or hunched.

    Any thoughts would be reassuring.

    Umm... What?

I would suggest you measure your meals by weight to begin with. 10-15% of its body weight (27-41g for your snake since it weighs 274g). After a while of feeding proper sized prey items after weighing them it will just become second nature and you will be able to get a good feel for picking appropriate sized prey just by looking at them.

It is frustrating. Maybe she's starting to shed. One of mine does that when he's going into shed.

Your girl should be eating 1 Weaned rat(31-45grams) every 5-7 days.

That makes sense. Sorry for the confusion I meant the rats look bigger when they are sitting then if you stretch their legs out a little. Hard to explain but I think I am trying a size too big. I will get a weaned rat next feed. Thanks. She looked interested at first and the. Seemed almost afraid. They know what they can handle I guess.

Thanks. I really. Appreciate the help.
