Foam Core

I have a similar post in the DIY forum but it wasn’t getting any views. So I thought it would be better to make a post in one of the more popular sections. Okay! Now let’s get to the question! My ball python is currently in a 40 gallon breeder. I want to cover the sides with black on black foam core so he will feel more secured. I was wondering if anyone could give me helpful advice before I start my task. What equipment should I buy?

It's pretty simple to do. Just cut the foam core board to fit the glass and then tape it on. I used black electrical tape, because it is more durable than Scotch tape, and it blended in with the black plastic trim on my tank.

Thank you for replying! I figured it would be a simple task! I was just curious to hear what people usually apply to the glass for the foam to stick. I didn't know if there was any special product to use since of the lighting, and heating pad. Last thing I want to do is apply a flammable product near my snake!

A sharp knife foam core tears if you try to use a dull one. Any tape that will hold paper will be fine. It is on the outside. Foam core does burn easily but it takes 450ºF + to do so don't let it get that hot... :)
