Egg Accident

Well here I am at day 45 and thought I was going to make it to 50 without messing up my first clutch ,but alas.
I went to do my last check to calm my curiousity before I planned to leave them alone till day 50. Being that at least 3 of the eggs are dimpling in a lot but the other half were still fairly plump I had no intentions whatsoever to cut eggs at this point from all the bad things I have read that could happen. As I'm moving to put the eggs back into the bator I end up snaging one of the extra thermometer probe cords, knocking it down, it hits me in the head and then bounces off an egg tearing a big gash into it and forcing some fluid out:(
I don't think I can put anything on it to stop mold from forming but I plan to swab it if a white film starts to form on it.The baby looks fully developed just lacking any primary colors(browns/yellows) and still seems to be alive despite the impact. Does it have a chance of surviving still at this point?
If anybody knows anything else I can do to try and help make sure this egg survives I could really use the advice.
I really don't want my clumsiness to cost me a baby:(

The snake can easily survive as long as all is going well inside the egg...big thing is to make sure it doesn't dry up too fast now.

Yeah a lot of people cut at day 50ish just to see what they got haha you should be fine as it is no different than if you had cut the egg yourself. I wouldnt worry. Just keep an eye out

I haven't had eggs myself yet but I read somewhere that you can put a little cling film like saran wrap over the window to help keep it from drying.

Yep saran wrap. A couple years ago a friend of mine called me freaking out because he had a female lay a clutch of eggs and when he tried to seperate the eggs he tore a tiny hole in one of the eggs. His incubator wasnt working right at the time so i told him to bring the clutch over to my house and we would put the clutch in mybwalk in bator. So he gets here and i cut a small piece of saran wrap and put it over the small hole and it stuck like glue. The egg survived and baby was all good.

I haven't opened the incubator yet today as I try to give at least a full 24hrs before I disturb the egg again cause every time I open the bator and tub I'm letting out humidity.
Theres condensation inside the tub so its difficult to see in there but it doesn't look like much has changed. I want to try the saran wrap thing but will it be ok with the baby so far developed, I certainly don't want to risk suffocating it if it decides to turn its head and nose into the saran wrap.
So far it doesn't look to be drying out at all.

If the egg starts to dry out, you can gently add a little bit of warm Pedialyte to it with a needle-less syringe.

I had one egg pip early last season, and it started to dry out. I added a little Pedialyte to it once a day, and the baby came out in perfect condition after 12 days.

You could also use distilled water, just as long as you keep it capped to prevent anything from contaminating the water.

put a bottle full of distilled water in the incubator, if you need to add water to the egg, it will be about the same temp.
