    Excited new BP owner--need opinions on my setup!
    My first ball python is arriving on Tuesday from a breeder--New England Reptile Distributors--and I am psyched!! I'm getting a female 2011--I'll know her exact hatch date when I get her. I have her home all set up and I've been adjusting everything all this week to be sure it's okay for the new arrival! I've got an Animal Plastics T8 cage, and since she's young I'm going to keep her in half the cage for now--I've got the divider in there. Since my house tends to be on the cool side I have a RHP for the ambient temp/cool side and Flexwatt underneath for the hot side. Everything is controlled by a Herpstat 4. The Accurite digital thermometer in the back corne says the ambient temp is 81 and the hot side temp 84--but when I shoot the temps with my fancy new infrared temp gun the spot under the hot hide--near the water bowl--reads 88, and the hottest temp in the cage--on top of the wood branches--reads 92.3. Is this okay? Substrate temps with the temp gun range from 82-83. I'm using a layer of cypress mulch on the cage floor because I've been having a terrible time with low humidity--the mulch really seems to help. Any advice and opinions would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    P.S. I do have a photo of my setup--only I can't figure out how to attach it! If anyone could let me know how to do this I'd appreciate it--LOL!

    To share a picture you just post it onto a picture hosting site such as photobucket and then copy the "IMG" code and put it into your post :)

    Edit: I was beaten to it lol

    Thanks, guys! I'll give Photobucket a try! I've got two identical hides--two medium ExoTerra reptile caves-- one on the hot side and one on the cooler side. As of right now the humidity is 57%. I'll post a photo once I go onto PhotoBucket!

    Setup is perfect in My opinion.. 50-60 huminidy is good You can bump it to 70 by rinsing cypress (HAIR SOPRAY BOTTLE FROM DOLAR STORE WORK PERFECT) durring shed..
    Beside that........ :gj::gj::gj:
