Don't have any carpets but think they're stunning, I'm a boa girl myself.

I have seen Colombian normal babies for less than $100 though online: I'd check kingsnake and fauna classifieds. You could probably find a nice hypo for $100-$200 even too.

(BTW Colombian's arn't "true" redtails: "true" redtails are BCC's while Colombians, Hogs, CAs, and Nics are BCIs) :gj:

Well it depends on what you want. Both can get to be fairly large. Females over 10ft and males 8ft +.
The only difference is carpets are much more slender and thin bodied. A 8 foot rtb will be alot thicker than a carpet. I love them both. The only reason i lean towards carpets is bc their colors are more appealing to me. But boas are really nice too :) Ive been toying around with the idea of getting my first "big" snake, but i cant quite gurantee ill have the room for an enclosure of the right size theyll need. The wait is killlllingggg me!!!

I have owned both red tails, and carpets. I enjoyed them both, but I really enjoy the boa's more.

Well you need the room and the money haha. Cages that size can run you like $400-$500. I dont really wanna spend that on a cage right now. Id rather buy another bp or two.
