    R'Zilla 11939 Temperature Controller, 1000-Watt
    Hi guys!

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details

I was wondering if i should go with this system. i have this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Reptil...4021166&sr=1-2

and will probably get another one. the heat rope is heating two tubs right now.
    Is this a good hygrometer?

    Thank you!

No stay away from that waste of money, the cheapest thermostat that is any good is the Hydrofarm, and even that is questionable at best.

If you want a good thermostat, you want a Herpstat

    (BTW a Hygrometer measures humidity...)

thank you. can i plug in a extension from the plug on the herpstat with multiple outlets on the extension and use multiple heaters?

Yes under a few conditions. all of the heaters are exactly the same, the cages that they are heating are exactly the same, and you monitor them 9only 1 of the heat sources will be monitored by the probe.

I use the Herpstat 4 which has 4 completely separate thermostats in 1 box. (4 outlets & 4 probes. All 4 can be independently set)

This is the safest way to run multiple heat sources

I really like the Vivarium Electronics thermostats

    http://www.reptilebasics.com/thermostats

they are priced about the same as the herpstats, but they dont have a quad zone option (Oh how I want one!!)

A good thermostat is the difference between a healthy, happy, live collection, and a stressed, sick, dead collection!! You have to think, if a thermostat malfunctions, and you do not notice, or are not around, you could loose your entire collection, not worth the risk for me to save a little money! Just my 2 cents though!

Honestly I just got my first BP and I didn't go with a very expensive morph because I quickly realized how valuable a t-stat was going to be. I ordered one from a local shop just opening here, and waited for it to arrive.

In the meantime got my female pastel earlier than expected. I was adjusting my dimmer several times a day to keep things consistent until my Herpstat 1 Basic arrived. I couldn't be happier now that has! The last 5 days have been amazing. I got it setup in no time and set my alarms for hi and low and everything is so stable now it isn't funny. I can start enjoying having her as a pet now and stop agonizing about temps all day. (I still check once a day with a temp gun to be safe though).

Spend the money on a good t-stat so you can enjoy your pet. My setup is a little different than most on here because I am using a CHE as a heat source and even if it runs at max my temps aren't far off just in case of a failure. If you are using belly heat then get a Herpstat 1 not the 1 Basic.

Temps are always the first most important thing so why gamble when you don't have to.

    2cents from a Newb.
