    Hot Side Probe
So, I got my Herpstat 1 probe sitting directly on top of the glass floor inside my 20Long tank. Underneath the glass and probe is obviously my UTH on the bottom of the tank. The herpstat is set to 92.0 degrees and the probe says it sits at pretty much that temp all day long.

My boggle is when I use the PE-2 tempgun, it can sometimes read 95 degrees. Should I be more trusting of the herpstat's probe reading 92 degrees more than the little $35 dollar tempgun?

I figured the snake will be able to push aside the cypress in the hide and lay directly on top of the glass, so I want to do what will be best for her.

I know that the tempgun carry vary about 1.8 degrees, but I figure a difference of 3 degrees is getting pretty large. Confuses me why such a difference.
    Suggestions please?

The herpstat's probe is extremely accurate, and the most accurate temp gun I have ever seen had a +/- 2 degree error (most are even worse) plus temp guns don't work well on glass. Trust the Herpstat.
