Rodent CO2 Build

Hey all,
I don't like using it but once in awhile I have overproduction. Here's some shots of the chamber. It works fantastic on a very slow trickle and the rats are euthanized peacefully. I used a soldering iron to make the hole in the tub. If you cut or try to drill it you might split/crack the tub.

Couple questions,
I think I saw you post in a different thread that you got the CO2 bottle at a local welding supply store for about $100-150, right?
And, also how do you disconnect it to clean the tub? Wasn't sure if you just disconnected the hose are if you installed something else to make it easier.

The 10lb cylinder was $140 filled. Refills at my local place are about $15. The 5lb cylinder was around $100 filled. I leave mine in the garage hooked up and ready to rock. I spray my cleaner and wipe it out right after I use it. It is easily disconnected with a flat edge screwdriver on either the cylinder or tub side.

Aren't you supposed to have a regulator? The tank can push out 900 lbs of CO2.

I've never used a regulator, never needed to, just crack the valve a tiny bit and release enough to do the damage and shut the valve.

How often do you have to refill it?

I just built a smaller version with a 20 oz paintball co2 bottle. Start to finish under $50 and the bottle cost $3 to fill. I've used it 4 times already and the bottle doesn't feel much lighter at all. It's posted in this section also. I called it a rat slayer lol.

I get like 30 uses out of the little paintball canister. That monster tank probably lasted him all year

mayb get a regulator from a welding supply store like gas pro or something that way u dont have to tamper with the knob and u dont blow ur container on accident
