Herpstat 1 or VE 200. Need help.
Where can I get these in Canada?

I'm leaning toward the herpstat but I can be swayed. Here's the setup (sorry no pics, just words).

10 bin malamine rack with 11inch flexwatt on the back. The rack is in the basement and my hydrofarm can't hold temps very well due to it being an on off style.

I plan to build a new rack soon with belly heat and this one will be used for hatchlings when I have them.

If you require any more info just lemmie know! Thanks in advance for your help.

I couldn't help with finding either of those in Canada, sorry. As to which one, I'd put my vote in for the Herpstat. I've never used the VE series thermostats but have 3 different models of the Herpstats and love them all! They're a proven system with great features and the prices are more than reasonable for what you get with them. I've not had one fail yet, knock on wood, and will and would purchase them again in the future. I know the VE models are pretty new and there have been a few isolated issues with some of them...there are a few threads floating around here discussing those issues, I think. Just my two cents, if my opinion is worth that much even, lol!

Thanks. I wouldn't post a thread if others opinions weren't worth at least 2 cents. Lol.

I get all my Herpstats and heat tape from Greg at Cornels World. He is an awesome guy to deal with and is pretty prompt.
I did notice that Royal Python Ranch has started selling them as well.
    I absolutely love the Herpstats.

I like herpstat. Couldn't you order direct from Spyder Robotics, and have it shipped?

I also like the herpstats I am in NS and have bought mine from spyder robotics direct. I ordered a herpstat ND agaes ago but the break down is similar to the 1.

    unit cost 125$
    shipping (USPS) 20.75
    insurance 2.70
    total 148
I did pay sales tax when I picked it up.

The ve200 you cannot ship direct they don't do it. Greg West carries them too but the reports of issues with them makes me leery I know of one that is being replaced and 2 others that have issues. (not holding settings after a power outage and not allowing new settings to be made)

I have used both the Herpstat 1 and the VE-200. Both are fine thermostats, but I prefer the VE-200. It's easier to set up and has a better menu than the Herpstat 1. But, you really can't go wrong with either set up.

Both are fine and I use both in my reptile room. My preference is for VE's and all of my recent thermostat purchases have been VE's. The menu and setting are easier to work with, in my opinion. Also, I like the way the VE's stack on top of each other.
