Glowing...

This is my first season breeding and it is very exciting yet tricky! I have a 2000g female normal and a 1500g spider that have both been locking up with a beautiful pastel and mojave males since November.

I am 90% sure that both are ovulating. Correct me if I'm wrong but with ball pythons that means that they HAVE developing eggs right?

Anyways, the female spider is a high gold spider; she is normally very light in color. Right now though, she looks very different. She almost looks like a hypo spider! I took a picture but it's difficult to see in the photo. Is this glowing?

I've been reading up on it but I'm still not clear on what is happening? Can anyone help me? Thanks!

hi Kyle, did not see any pics. However description of your Spider glow is a great sign. The glow is always cool to watch and in my experience precedes ovulation which essentially is the process of passing the eggs. Try again on the pics.

That's actually my bad. I meant that I took a picture, but didn't post it because it was difficult to see anything unusual in the photo. It was frustrating to look at the photo and see nothing peculiar and then look up at her and notice the obvious color change.

So the ovulation probably hasn't occurred yet?

Does the glowing mean that she is READY to "conceive" or does it mean that she already has and is in the process of building.....I'm just curious and still a bit confused.

Glowing is a great sign. Yeah, they take on a almost hypo look during glow.
My female glowed for almost two months before she had ovy. The female is not yet proven, but is pushing almost 50 days since ovy and still no eggs. Held her vertically yesterday and counted at least 4 eggs. Ive hear theres no chance of reabsorbtion after ovy though so im still hopeful. Ive had my face pressed against her tub since March 20th though. Lol

I don't have any photos of our girls glowing, but when they do you'll know it. They don't even look like the same snake. Hypo, as stated, would be a good description of what it looks like to me.

Also you can't mistake ovulation, either. When they do it is extremely obvious.

Here is one of our girls ovulating this year to give you an idea. It looks like they just ate the world's largest rat and it got lodged 2/3 of the way down her body.
