Will a female who has ovulated still lock ?
So, I had one confirmed ovulation which I photographed. Then my other two breeding girls, I suspected ovy, but never saw it.

Since I never saw the ovy for those two girls, I went ahead an paired them both. They both locked successfully. Now, about a week later, both are going into blue at the same time.

Is it possible this is their pre-lay shed ? I tried to find information on this, but I could not get a clear answer. Has anyone here ever had a lock after ovulation? Maybe because you missed the ovy ?

If this is their pre-lay shed, then three of my girls should go within about a week of one another!

I dont think Ive ever heard of a female locking after an ovy, so Id guess they didnt ovulate. Why do you think they ovulated if you didnt see it?

With these two, I saw what I suspected was the tail end of their ovy. There was some swelling and hardness near the back 1/3 of their bodies. Not nearly as big as the female I caught in mid ovy, but it was there.

I know since an ovulation is only visible for 24 hours or so, it was entirely possible that I saw just the end of it.

Well, the incubator is fired up, and I'll be keeping a countdown on all three of them.
