Can I give Tylan to a pregnant rat?
I have a female rat that is starting to get some stuff in the corner of her eye and was going to put some tylan in her water but she is pregnant and wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt the babies?

I would not put her on Tylan because she has porphyrin in her eyes or nose. That doesn't mean she needs to be put on Tylan. It could be anything from being exposed to dusty bedding, stress of the pregnancy, etc.

I have heard of pregnancy complications due to Tylan in rats.

Here is more information on porphyrin.

Thanks for the link and the advice. I decided to wait before I gave it to her to see if it got any worse and wouldn't you know it, I woke up to 9 healthy babies this morning. :D
