    Stomach gurgling?
I've been treating my snakes for mites and today when I gave them a rub down with mineral oil, one of my snakes seemed to have a bubble around it's stomach (inside), when I would rub over it it would make popping/gurgling sounds... is this normal? Or am I soaking them too often in water (daily about 30 mins)... I dunno, just guessing really, new to all this,

    Thanks

Why are you soaking them in water? Snakes soaking in water is a symptom of mites, but not something you should do to your snake. I think it can actually be harmful to your pet.

I've seen many people suggest using Provent-a-Mite (PAM). I can't tell you more about it other than read the directions and follow them to the letter. Somebody more experienced can probably chime in and give you better advice on how to treat the snake.

    Provent-a-Mite

You should soak a BP when it has mites. It helps to remove the mites and relieve the irritation of mites. A drop of dawn in dish soap in warm water (water temperature in the mid 80"s) is best.

PAM kills the mites, soaking daily removes them there is much more to dealing with mites than PAM. You also should remove everything from the cage and clean it very well, and then replace with a minimalistic setup using paper towels as substrate.

Maybe the popping gurgling sound is digested liquid matter moving around?

    Huh...well now I know.

Oh yeah, duh, that's it now. You don't soak a snake that is about to shed. Sometimes I just feel dumb. :rolleye2:
