    Pinkies
Is it okay to feed pinkies to a juvenile ball python, maybe two at a time because they're so small? I just have a whole bunch left over that I don't want to waste. Otherwise, is there a good "trade" site where I might be able to swap them with someone locally for fuzzies?

Pinkies are really too small for a Bp you might be able to double them up but some Bp's won't even strike at them.

I had a feeling of that, but I'm willing to try it as long as it won't hurt her. It'll be her first feeding since I got her only 9 days ago. I heard they sometimes need smaller meals after adjusting to a new home anyway.

They won't hurt your BP, but don;t be surprised if she turns her nose up at them either. Give it a shot and see what happens.

With young BP's the best way to judge rodent size/amount is by weight. you want to feed them 15% of their body weight.

Example so say you have a BP that weighs 100 grams

100 x 0.15 = 15 grams so you should feed that 100 gram BP 15 grams of rodent.

I had a similar question, glad I checked here first! The pet store where I work special ordered live pinkies for a customer and he/she never came to pick them up, and since they were delivered without their mother (what?!) they are starting to pass on...so I was thinking of taking some for my BP, who is eating adult mice right now. So far they have set aside 8 for me! Hope it won't hurt her.

Augh, that's horrible. Hopefully your snake will eat them, otherwise find something that will or have them humanely euthanized ASAP.

Yeah. They're being fed regularly but some of them still aren't making it. We were shocked that they were delivered with no mother! (I work at a small independent pet store, not a crappy Petco/Petsmart) I hope they are all gone by the time I go in for my next shift on Sat.
