LED lights

I know Balls dont require and special lighting but I was wonderng if anyone has used LED stip lighting with sucess. I am just tired of light fixtures on top of my tnaks and as I am switching over to custome enclosures or AP T-8's I was wondering if these would work

I am messing around with this myself. There recently was a thread about a guy who did this in his Boaphile. (I'll see if I can find it)

There is no reason why this wouldn't work.... it's just figuring out the logistics.

I just made a mount and screwed one into the top of my aquarium rim worked great jsut wanted to make sure I was not shorthing my snake of any needed light requirements. LEDs dont give off any UV that I know of

Some LEDs do put out UV, but they are almost always listed as dong so

I saw some at my local aquarium shop, kind of pricy but man did it make the coral pop! Haha

The one I am trying out at the moment states is does not put out UV rays. I just wanted to make sure it would not hurt my snake I know they are nocturnal soe should be fine. But it never hurts to ask :)

Basically...my Bosch GLI 10,8V-Li flexible led strip lighting torch isn't working....batteries are working perfectley in other tools led outdoor lighting fixtures mini led light bars

I have been using led lighting for years in my enclosures. The simplest I have found is to use the aquarium 'tube' type. They are self contained and water proof and cheap. There is mounting brackets if you want to use them but I just zip tie the fixture in place. easier.

There are tons of variations this is just the first one I came to.

I own a UV meter (solartech) and very few led have any uv at all. The only ones I have found (I use UV rich lights at work so I have been looking for low heat ones) are more expensive and deep blue. I have never found white ones that have an amount of uv that was higher than 8 µW/cm² and the sun is on a dingy day is over 25 µW/cm² it is so low it makes no difference.
