    How Often Is Too Often?
Quetzal seems to be keeping a 3 week cycle between each shed. He's normal for about 2-2.5 weeks, then he goes dull and sheds in 5-7 days. I figure this isn't bad for a youngling like him (7mos now), especially since he seems to be gaining quite a bit of weight and length per month AND the sheds are one piecers, but it does raise an interesting point that I can't seem to find anywhere.

I know the mantra is "snakes shed when they get good and ready", but I've also heard that a snake that sheds every week is not a good sign and neither is a snake that only sheds every two years. An acquaintance of mine who admittedly does not take proper care of her RTB says that hers goes through a full shed cycle every week at 9 months old (her snake is also severely underweight at 3ft and 230g, is showing several RI warning signs, and sheds in flakes without fail) and I'm wondering if too-frequent sheds (if there is such a thing) are also a sign of poor husbandry.

How often, in your experience, do your littlings shed? :3

mine shed every 4-7 weeks but i only have a few snakes so it might not be a large enough sample size for a general percentage.
