Need help raising ambient temps!

Hey guys, I live in Iowa in a dorm room and earlier this week the temps were in the 80s so I had my AC on and the windows open. Well now its back down to like 50 and it is seeping through the cracks in my windows causing the ambient temps for my 2 tanks to be about 68-70 degrees. I am stressed because I can't warm up my room (they turned off the heat) and I don't know what else to do. Can someone please give me some advice! I am really worried. (btw I have a BP and a jungle carpet python.) Their hot spots are fine and so is humidity just not ambient temps.

Short term, a heat lamp with an infrared bulb is probably your best bet

You can buy a space-heater, if they aren't a banned item in your dorms? Also you can buy a window sealing kit for like 3 to 5 dollars at walmart.. It's just like a plastic wrap you tape over the window and you use a heat source like a blow-dryer to shrink it. It's very effective and easy to setup. When it's warm again you can rip it down. If it get cold again, you can always put more back up again, it comes with enough material for multiple windows.

(If you don't want to support Walmart because it is a terribly unethical place destroying individual town culture, identity, and local business competition, you can buy the window-sealing kit at a different store)

Try setting your tank next to a window and let the sunlight shine in on it. The greenhouse effect (letting light and heat in, but not out) should bump up your temps. Just make sure to keep an eye on it.

Cover the tops of the tanks with towels or plexiglass. Or textbooks. They will act as an insulator, and keep the warm air from your basking areas in the cages.

Helps with humidity, too. :)

A low wattage heat bulb is also an option.

Thats a good idea! Didnt think of putting towels or somthing on top of the tank
