    New Crestie, Questions
    Hey there all!

So, the breeder I got my little Crestie from at the show said she was eating Repashy Superfood and I bought a bag for her when I got her. However, I put a small bottle cap with the mixed Repashy in it for her in her enclosure on Saturday night and when I took it out this morning it looked as though it hadn't been touched. I moved the cap up on top of the hide I have in there so it was closer to her yesterday. She hasn't really come out of the top corner of her enclosure at all since I put her in there, and I just wanted to know if there is anything I can do to make her more comfortable or to convince her to eat?

I'm replacing her food with some newly mixed Repashy tonight. It's about the consistency of a thick milkshake as the package instructed. It's room temperature (78 degrees) as well.

Here is a pic of her enclosure:

It is not usually by the window, but rather, is on top of the armoir in the corner. I just moved it to take the picture so that it didn't have a glare.

Should I maybe pick some crickets up for her tomorrow when I get the feeders for my snakes? I just want everything to be perfect for her. She's so tiny and sweet. I don't want anything to go wrong.

    Signed,

A new, and concerned, gecko parent.

Sometimes you dont even notice after they eat. I thought my geckos werent eating for a long time until I realized they were just not taking alot from it.

As long as it is pooping, it is eating. It is hard to tell when they lust lick off the top. Mine generally pick a corner on the glass and stay there all day.

Just like Jinx said, if they are pooping they are eating. It makes almost every new owner worried (including myself) when they first get a Rhac. The best thing you can do to make your new acquisition eat and be comfortable is to leave it alone. Your set up looks fine, plenty of places to hide and feel secure. It sounds like you are making the CGD perfectly. I switch mine out every other day, lots would go to waste if it weren't for my dubia roaches eating all the leftovers. I love those feeders!

I mix up a few days worth and keep it in the fridge, then clean the dish and put out a new scoop every other day. I only have 2 (and one on the way!) so this works out well.

Yeah, I do the same thing. I mix up around a weeks worth at a time for all my CGD eaters and I store it in one of these: http://www.etundra.com/12_Oz_Squeeze...5|||0|24|7|1|0

It works really well. I have tons and tons of bottle caps that I wash. I got most of them from my works recycling bin. It would have taken me way too long to collect as many as I need from personal use, haha.

Thank you everyone for your quick responses!

I don't see any poop yet, but I will be on the lookout. As to pre-mixing like Jinx said...I mixed one teaspoon of repashy and two teaspoons of water in a small container that I am keeping in the fridge. I put a small scoop of that in the red cap that's currently warming up on top of her enclosure. The package of repashy is also in the fridge. The breeder said that was best.

I have been leaving her alone, save for when I open the top to spritz in the morning. (Even though I'm dying to take her out and hold her. ) And actually, when I just put her home back on top of the armoir I noticed what looks like smears of repashy on the front wall of the enclosure in about the size of tiny gecko feet. :P So maybe she did eat after all.

Yeah my girl likes to walk through hers as well. Plants her front paws right in it.

I mixed a little plain yogurt with the repashy in this pic. I do that every now and again for a little calcium booster. I read somewhere where folks do that, and she seems to like it.

If you put only a little repashy you will be able to see lick marks. If they do walk in the food make sure you clean their feet because it can get into the grooves on their feet and they could have skin issues from it..
