Is 85% to high for humidity? When I must my cage , it spikes to sometimes 85 or so, but then settles down to around 60..
85% is fine.

I have found that 45 - 50% is high enough. As long as it stays in that range I get perfect sheds almost every time from all 20 of my bp's
Normally you wanna be around 60%. But 70%+ just for while theyre shedding is fine.
