Humidity issue

I have always used paper towels for substrate in my ball and blood enclosures ( Animal Plastic 4x2 enclosures). Humidity was ok but had to most often. Today I decided to switch to Cyprus mulch to see if humidity would be better. After switching to Cyprus mulch, humidity in all of my enclosures (4x2x12, 4x2x15 and 4x2x24) is staying steady at 99%! Will the Cyprus dry up a bit after a few days? I know many bake the Cyprus mulch to dry out a bit, i can and will do that if needed but was wondering of others had this issue? I even removed the water bowls for a few hours to see if that may lower the humidity, but still at 99%

Yes, it will dry out eventually. My AP cages stay around 60% humidity without misting (I use corrugated wrap for substrate but I also live in a very humid area) if I use a substrate like Eco-Earth or cypress that hold moisture really well my cages humidity goes through the roof

I too am having issues with humidity being too high at about .85%! My first and only bp is in his process of shedding but Iam worried its too high is there anything I could do to lower it a bit?

85% during shed is fine, you don't want the humidity to stay that high all the time because it will cause mold growth in the cage, but with cleaning that isn't an issue. The average humidity where BP's are from in Africa is 80% so 85% isn't going to hurt them. it is only bad when it forms condensation on everything.

it will go down in time, the substrate will dry out and so will the humidity in the air.

My guess is that you don't have enough ventilation. I would expect air flow to drop the humidity fairly quickly especially if you remove the water bowl for a day. I would expect to see a magor drop in 8-10 hours with out the bowl and good ventilation.
