    Martial Arts?
Anyone here do any kind of Martial Arts?

I've been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/MMA for a little over a month, and very recently took up Tae Kwon Do. :) I absolutely LOVE it! and plan on staying in both classes for a long time.

I've been doing BJJ for almost three years. (Blue Belt under Marcio Laselva-2nd Degree Black Belt) I've done Judo for most of the first part of my life. (Made it to Brown Belt.) Helps a lot with BJJ.

Where do you train? I trained a little bit with Renato Taveres, who is out in Florida.

I took Hung Gar (Southern Style) Kung Fu for 3 years until I got injured and couldn't train anymore. Pity. I had just starting learning Crane.

I took 4 years of Tae Kwon Do and got my black belt. I absolutely loved it. Then I stopped when I went off to college. I just started doing it again and am now taking Tae Kwon Do as an elective at college.

I studied several disciplines during my career. Mostly traditional Judo, Tae Kwon Do , and Escrima. Just before I retired, the USAF combat arms career fields adopted the Army Combatives training style which is a mix of several different disciplines. I also had the good fortune to train in the USMC martial arts program while I was assigned to CENTCOM, which is a joint command. Not being a Marine, I wasn't eligible to earn their belts, but I did get to train with them and learned quite a lot. The USMC program centers on using what is commonly available to someone in the field such as rifles, knives, e-tools, etc., and teaches the use of these tools in nontraditional ways.

I roll around at a few mma gyms, I started around ten years ago before the huge UFC boom and every wanna be tough guy was wearing a tap out shirt. It was a natural transition from me being a life long wrestler. Haven't gone in a while, not enough
Hours in the day with work a wife and two kids.
@ Slim- I also trained in ARMY combatives while I served at fort hood.

I'm starting Krav Maga on Tuesday. I've also taken up some kickboxing at my new gym (have yet to start yet). I'd LOVE to find a nice boxing gym near me to start traditional boxing, but of course, everything costs money. Usually it's money I don't have ;)
