I was at the pet shop last night picking up my feeders for all my babies, when I got to looking at the reptile showcase as usual. They had a really nice ball python, it was definitely a high end normal, and there were a couple blue tongue skinks. Earlier one had become pregnant and had babies in the shop, so they had an excess ammount. I asked to hold one, and to my suprise they allowed me to. It was pretty nice, but had some sharp claws. It was a big one too, it was gentle though. It was great, do any of you out there keep these?

BTS
These are really easy to keep Peter. Dont need alot. But BTS need a bit more room than a schnieders. I like the BTS cause they are nicer looking. But usually they have a bit of an attitude, so, if you found one thats nice, and you can grab it up. If you do, PM me or IM me on MSN and I will help you on caring for it.

To bad your not talking about the Blue Tailed Skink (Five Lined Skink) I could get all you wanted. During the warm month's I can walk out the door and watch several of them scurry to thier hiding place. Also some Broad Headed and Ground Skink's. And if I take a walk through the wood's near my house, i could come up with a Glass Lizard (has no leg's). Use to play with them back in the day, allway's thought they were snake's until I saw them on a lizard site.

I've actually considered getting them in the past, I'm pretty informed on how to keep them from my previous research.
Ironhead, where on earth do you live?

Wizill, we'd been wondering where you were, thought your eye may have been giving you more trouble

nope, thanks for your concern though... the eye is healing, slowly but surely...

I used to live in detroit MI, and i rarely found reptiles outside. i occasionall would find a garter or water snake, i found a red bellied snake once. i used to go snake searching every day almost. i moved to the north carolina piedmont in january and i cant wait till summer so i can examine the local reptiles. does anyone live near this area and can tell me a little about them? i have a big ole book on the reptiles of north carolina. but its good to hear what other reptile enthusiests like me have to say.
