Clutch size determines build time?

I am just curious, if the female is building a large clutch does it take longer than a smaller clutch? Seems to make since right? Example, 2 females start building at the same time and everything is exactly identical except one is a smaller female building lets say a clutch of 6 eggs and the other is a bigger female with a clutch of 12 eggs. Would the smaller clutch ovy sooner and subsequently lay before the other female? I know they all take their own sweet time, but just curious if clutch size could determine build time...

I dont think clutch size determines build time. Its a fallacious way of thinking in that something that seems it should be one way doesnt necessarily mean it will be. My largest female with an estimated 10 eggs in her is due to lay in the next week and my smaller females with 4-7 follicles havnt even ovulated yet and they started building around the same time. I think it has alot more to do with age of females, if they have been bred before, husbandry, feeding, size, what cycle they are on, and overall whenever they decide they are ready to go.

I was just thinking out loud :)

I had one female with 8 eggs lay at almost exactly 4 months from starting to pair, and 2 of my really big girls that feel like they have 10-12 follicles each have been paired since end of October and are still building. I have a smaller girl that feels like 5-6 follicles that is getting big and she was just started pairing end of December. I know its all a ploy to stress me out and test my patience :D

What was the longest anyone's female took from pairing to laying?

I doubt it matters at all, plus it's really hard to determine exactly how long your girl builds.
