The brainwashing has taken effect!

We were at the Denver Zoo today, and they had a hatchling Green Tree Python on exhibit. I have wanted to get one of these beautiful creatures for some time, but me getting new snakes is like trying to talk the wife into having more kids! No, I take that back, she would probably agree to another kid easier. Anyhoo, when my wife saw the hatchling GTP, she informed me that "We will be getting one of those someday."
I was speechless! (Which is saying a lot! Just ask some of the folks that know me!) "Okay, honey, whatever you want," was the lame response I finally stammered out.
YEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arboreals, here I come! Hopefully next summer!

Randy, in case you did not know by now, GTP's are my favorite herp in the world. I'd probly sell my left kidney for a nice green and blue female at this time. Those are the most beautiful snakes in the wold as far as I'm conscerned, you're a lucky man.

I'd have one by now, but I know when to hold off. They need a lot, and can't really have any flaw in husbandry without causing problems. They are too tricky, and I'm in no situation to provide a perfect environment as it is.

Now Randy, arboreals are tricky to keep, and typically nobody jumps right to the GTP or ETB perhaps you should start off with an amazon tree boa for expereince in these kinds of arboreals.

We were involved in a large scale rescue last spring and one of the animals taken into our care was a GTP.
She was the most beautiful thing. VERY VERY abused thou. to my knowledge she was WC 8 months before we rescued her and hadn't eaten in anyones care. Her fecals were full of so many parasites. She did pull through thou. We tubed her after her blood tests came back ok. After 2 tubings she started taking down her own food. She was with us for about 4 months then went with US Fish and Wildlife.
We miss her to death. I'm trying to find a good source of CB GTP.
I am thinking of trying to surprise my husband with one for Christmas.
Ok Ok thats a big excuse. I want one for christmas..lol
