Not necessary unless they have a bad shed or need to poop.

There is no reason why you need to give a ball python a bath. If they crawl through their own feces, you may want to wipe them down with a wet cloth, but you don't need to give them a bath.

How did you deduce that he LOVES swimming?

The only time I "bathe" mine is when they decide it's cool to crawl in their own crap or urine and when I have to help get some shed off. I put them in warm water for about a minute or so (or whenever I get the crap off) and then immediately let them crawl through a towel to get dry. "Bathing" them actually removes the needed natural oils in there skin and isn't needed.

Gave Pretzel a bath once, when she needed a poop.

I wasn't exactly her favourite person after that incident, and would only do it now if she needed to poop again or had a bad shed. Lucky for me she hasn't needed it, most people I know say their ball python likes the water but I guess Pretzel just doesn't!

Last year I gave my lesser pastel female a bath, and after that she didn't eat for a whole 8 months! I have never washed any of my snakes after that experience.

Ball pythons don't really come from a place that has much water? I mean I am not saying its desert but its more grass lands and plains. So they probably wouldn't spend much wild time in the water.

Baths are not needed and not recommended. All they do is dry out their skin and stress out the snake. What looks like them having "fun" is them frantically trying to get out.

I only bathe females that have just laid, to remove the scent of eggs off of them. :)
