    tub gap issue/question
What is the greatest amount of gap for an adult female rack that most of you would be comfortable with? We built a melamine rack today using ARS Tubs and, unlike the last two racks I made, this time I had a heck of a time with proper spacing because the Tubs bubble out (down) on one end, and bubble in (up) at the other end. Essentially the bottom is not flat, and instead of compressing it while fastening shelves (which resulted in a tight fit when they naturally expanded) I let them sit in their naturally bumpy way and I have a quarter inch gap on one end and about one-eighth inch gap at the other end.
Does anyone think (or have first-hand experience) with this large of a gap for an adult female rack? I'm just trying to decide if I need to modify it or look into getting different Tubs,I chose these because I wanted the gray color for my breeder females and I walk by that area a lot. My main concern would be an injury from trying to jam a snout in there. What do you think?

1/4" would be pushing it for me, but an 1/8" gap seems like it would be ok

*I don't have any first hand experience with gaps like these

My rack has a 1/8 inch spacing and works great.
Sounds like your 1/4 space is a little large. You can use risers to lift your tubs a little.

Thanks, it seems a bit too much, I put my pastel in there for a few minutes and watched closely, he didn't try to push out the gap but I could see way more of his head than I was comfortable with. I was thinking about using wood shims at the front bottom turned sideways and playing with different lengths to dial in the right height. The bummer is that the uneven bottom creates a see-saw effect, front goes up and back goes down. . . These Tubs are kinda bumming me out. . .

You should be able to get some 1/4 or 1/8 in shim from your local hardware store and run a strip down the side with the larger gap this would also give you a kinda stop for your tubs.
