    Does he enjoy handling...?
I got my first BP (Dexter), and first ever snake, from the pet store not too long ago. I'm not sure how old but he is like 14 inches, and he is really calm when being handled (Only by me and my boyfriend, Chris, he is pretty afraid of other people.) He will slither about sometimes, but often he will just coil up my arm and relax, but when we put him back he tries to get out of his cage. Does he enjoy the handling, or just dislike being caged?
Also do you guys think your snake likes you? Or is he just not afraid? When Dexter is slithering around Chris or I and someone else comes in and tries to touch him he will immediately come to us and hide under my shirt or between Chris and I. Does he do that simply because we are non threatening smells?

Snakes don't know their owners, its more likely that your animal knows how you handle him and that is what it is accustomed to. About not wanting to go back into his cage, all snakes have their own personalities. Some of mine move all around when taken out some just sit there. You just have to find out what your snake enjoys and what he doesn't over time.

He tolerates it. :) The popular theory is that snakes don't have the capacity to "enjoy," rather they either feel secure (safe) or insecure (threatened, stressed). Sounds like your snake feels secure and comfortable when handled.

This is what he does. And he ONLY does it over my fabric bracelets. Any idea why?

That's what BPs do - they wrap around things! ;) Your snake has a cute face.

Do you have any idea why, out of Chris, who he also seems to be safe with, and I, he wraps around the bracelets? He has never done it anywhere else, but instantly wraps around that arm when he touches it.
    And thanks :D
I think hs is pretty cute as well.

Makes him feel secure. The more leverage a snake has, the safer they feel. They certainly don't want to fall, or be pulled off of their "perch" by another animal. It's like having a seatbelt. I mean, if you were hanging off someone's wrist, wouldn't you want something to hold onto? :P

Ah, that makes sense! He does go in and out of the fabric. Thanks :)
I am so nervous about having him as a pet, I want him to be as happy and healthy as possible. So EVERYTHING he does seems strange haha.

That's what happens when you take a terrestrial snake and hang it unsupported in the air...they try to find something to hold on to.

I would assume he does this only over your fabric bracelets because that's only place you wear fabric bracelets for him to do it over.
