Frozen Food

this is my first post ever hehe
i have been thinking about feeding my BP frozen mice because of the cost and i know they where feed well and healthy. So how do i get him started on them and how do i thaw them out

I always fed my kingsnakes frozen. First of all, feeding your bp, I wouldn't suggest mice. Most people (esp. on this site) that I have chatted with about feeding tell me to try and switch to rats, which I have been attempting. Now to your questions... Getting your bp switched to thawed will be pretty tough to pull off. I would first suggest starting with pre-killed rats. Just put them in a bag and smack em against the wall or something. After your snake eats a few freshly pre-killed rodents, you can try offering a thawed one. Thawing a frozen rodent is pretty simple. I usually put them in a ziplock bag sealed, and then fill up a cup with piping hot water. Put the bag in the water, and I usually have to get another cup and stack it over top of the bag so the bag won't float. It takes about 10-15 minutes, simple as that :). Rats are simpy better for them. I'd advise rats for all bp's.

Frozen for the cost is not worth it. To have 35 shipped to my door it'd be like 130.00 or something. Geez, not worth it. But if you go frozen, get rats. If you got a small bp then mice will only last about 2 more months, then it'll need rats. So don't go buying too many :)
