Is this a ovulation or building?
Checked in on my snakes tonight and noticed a bit of a bugle in the body of my big girl. But I don't know if its anything or just the way she is sitting there. Once I made her move to try and get better pictures I couldn't really see it any more. Thoughts?

Hard to tell could be either or she could be gravid already?

It doesn't look like an ovulation but I agree with Raul.. She looks rather peaked. Is she off feed? If so, for how long?

How did your snake swallow a whole bugle? Has she always shown a preference for brass instuments? :D

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

It's possible, but it really doesn't look like the 'classic' ovulation, ovulations usually look like a very quick and noticeable localized swelling that will generally go away within a day. This one looks like it goes all the way down the back half of her body all the way to the vent. Mine will often look this way right before they're ready to actually lay their eggs.

She had gone off food for a while and than started to eat small rats again in the last 2 to 3 weeks. And she started to refuse to male I have been putting her with over the last couple of weeks.

I'm sorry. I know that I'm a sick and disturbed individual, I just can't seem to help myself. :rolleye2:
