Need Help Switching my Female Ball Python to Frozen/Thawed

hello,
Im having some trouble getting my female Ball Python to eat FT. She is about 5 months old, and i got her from bob clark about a month and half a ago. He told me upfront that she has been feeding on live(like all of this BP hatchlings) But he also said that "she"(my female) should take Thawed no problem. Well she didnt.

I have tried for about a month and half to get her to taked thawed. So i gave her a live small adult mouse and she took it no problem. She will not touch thawed though. I have tried leavign it in there with her with her cage covered over, Didnt work.
Any suggestions will be greatly app.

I found while trying to switch mine that it works better to start off getting live ones, and stunning them. The snake then gets used to grabbing a live one that isn't moving much. After a few feedings like that, I whack it hard enough that it twitches for a while, and throw it in twitchin'. After a few weeks of that, try a freshly killed one. I guess you could call it the "Randy Twelve Step Plan." Four feedings on stunned, four on twitchin', four on freshly killed (you may have to make them "dance"), then it should be ready for F/T. I haven't had any problem switching mine using this process. Depending on the snake, it may take longer than 12 steps!
The only other suggestion is to make sure you are superheating the F/T critter. You can put it under a light bulb for a few minutes, then grip the tail with tongs or pliers, and make it "dance" for your BP. This has always worked for me.

Yup, Randy's plan should work, with a bit of effort.

I don't feed frozen, I feed freshly killed. On occasion a frozen. If they don't eat the rodent I put it in a ziploc bag and freeze it for later, that has worked for me. But for most of mine I just wack the rodent and dance it for them. Try that, frozen is great, but frshly killed works too.

Yup all of these are good suggestions you can do the zombie mouse dance if you want. It can always be dipped in chicken broth, they seem to love this. Good luck on your next feeding.

Not necessarily, my baby is around that age, and I just started her on f/t. I was lucky and she has a feeding response similar to another species, so she took right away. I would probably suggest attempting the fresh kill in your situation, or maybe warming your feeder a little more if you can't stomach that.
