    Home made incubators?
Is it easy to design a homemade incubator? What are the materials necessary and if its too much to explain are there any websites/pubs that could give me a step by step guide?

Yes. There's a guide in the DIY section. Very simple and cheap

You can do the same set up using a refrigerator/wine cooler.
(^Craigslist is your friend for this one. You can get cheap to free fridges)

We just made our first incubator from an old bar fridge , some heat tape, a computer fan and power supply, thermostat and a couple digital thermometers because I'm a little paranoid lol. It took me all of one afternoon to wire up the tape, connect everything and get it up and running. It can easily be done for reasonable cost. We have $10 into the bar fridge, about $20 into heat tape, the cost of the thermostat and thermometers. Oh also I cut the plastic off the door to more easily accommodate the egg bins (6qt sterilite bins)

Cooler incubators are not hard to put together. I put together mine last year.

Super easy, and there are all sorts of threads about it in the DIY section.

    Cooler/fridge
    flexwatt
    computer fan
    old cell phone charger
    thermostat

and I think that's really all you need to get your incubator going. The old cell phone charge is what you will use to wire your computer fan. Double check the volts and whatnot, but almost any old cell phone charger works to hook up your fan.
