Thats a lot of weight to gain. It can be done but do you think its in the best interest of the snake?

150 grams is a baby. I would think you would want to grow her over at least 2 years. One year seems like a lot of stress. I am sure it has been done, but is it really necessary? A well started 700-800g Pastel will not set you back too much, and would be much more likely to be able to add enough weight by the end of next year.

Regardless of her size next year, she may not be sexually mature.
People usually breed females by 2 years of age.

    That is another great point.

You need to remember that breeding is not only about size.

    Age is also a factor.

If you are that impatient I can tell you that you will have a hard time, breeding ball pythons requires patience.

You just need to be patient. Don't power feed, its not good for the snake. Rule thumb I have heard is on their 3rd winter they are ready. Think about your snakes well being first.

x2. I have a 2010 Albino who is at 1600 grams but I'm waiting til next season to breed her. She's fed once every 7 days and has been since she reached 300-400 grams. If I were you...feed an appropriately sized rat every 4 days until your little one reaches 400 grams and then put her on a weekly feeding schedule. If she is a good eater, she'll put on size in no time. As for patience, I got my first BPs in 2008 and did not breed until 2011. Enjoy your snake and the hobby, you'll be amazed how quickly the time will pass!

No its not gonna happen. The argument of sexual maturity is one i tend to agree with as far as they need to be sexually mature. However i have seen young girls produce eggs. Even if you can get her to produce early you will most likely have a small clutch. Rule of thumb here is i dont breed till they are at least 2 years old and 1500 grams or 3 years old and 1200 grams. With that said not all balls grow as fast as others. If you want to breed next season then get a bigger girl

IMO no, next year is this year, if you are talking about the next breeding season, which starts in October/November. If you are talking about next year as in the 2013 breeding season that's definitely possible. Size isn't the only thing you need to breed a girl, you also need age.
