Need some help, advice please !!
    hello,

so i got my pastel female "Gertrude" about a month ago. She fed right away with me and ate every week since exept for now first time she refused to eat, she has also been in her cold side hide since sunday(day i usualy feed) curled in the same position and seems little apprehensive when we open up cage doors for example i wanted to show a friend of mine my new baby girl i picked her up but right away wanted to go back down and looked as if she was going to strike (she turned her head around fast as i put her down) as before i could just pick her up and hold her. So today i lifted hide to check her out and i cant tell (its my first snake so everything new to me) is she about to shed? and her neck looks like its faded in color and kind of wrinkly maybe because of way shes curled, its also been half hour since i moved hide and she still in same area, post couple pics, bad quality sorry

    thanks britt,

Whats her setup like? Temps/humidity/hides? What r u using to heat the tank? What are you feeding her? How often? How big is she?

I don't notice it with my BPs but my boas get really wrinkly around their necks right before they're going to go into shed, so it's possible she's going to go. Have you seen her in blue?

Also make sure your hot side temps aren't too hot, that could be one reason why she's been staying on her cold side. If your hides aren't identical she could be favoring the cold side one as well.

the hides are both identical, right now temp is 89.5, humidity is 53%( just misted about an hour ago), i have and uth,and heat lamp (the red light), her eyes look a little hazy but not blueish color like ive seen on other bp pictures going into shed

I tend to notice that if I haven't seen any activity for a few days, they usually wind up blue not long after that. And my pastel het hypo girl gets really crabby through all stages of shed. Double check all temps, and if they are good, could be a shed coming. Your humidity needs to be 70 for shed time.

You can foil the screen top of the tank 2-3 layers of foil and duct tape it make sure u leave an opening so the air doesn't get stagnant that should help with humidity and hold in heat, some use moist towels on top also..

you can start to see a shed coming for a week (sometimes even more than that) before the eyes go blue. pink belly, dulled colors, overall strangeness are all signs that a shed in coming. my Pastels almost look like normals the week before they shed. yet you can barley tell that my spider is going to shed soon. it all depends on the snake.

mine started and finished shed in like 7-8 days. he was crabby in that period and had some wrinkles on his neck...i also used a moist hide like your using and the shed went perfect, you should know in a few days if shes shedding
