Have you ever watched a tv show every week cause you just wanted to see how stupid can it get? Well doomsday preppers is that show for me. I dont want to affend anyone here that may have the same views and are a doomsday prepper but come on. Seriouslly? So far i have seen bug out vehicles, food storage, weapons stockpiles, livestock, bunkers, so thank you nat geo for showing me whos houses im going to raid when the [stuff] hits the fan lol. Do these peoe teally think they are gping to be able to protect what they have when it all goes to hell? Not gonna happen.

Like anything things can go to the extreme, but if you don't think that society can crumble in a second and your not at all prepared, you'll end up being the "stupid" one...at least in the Darwinian sense.

Oh dont get me wrong at all. I have my own stockpile of protection. And i know we will have an event in our lifetime that will push the resolve of humanity but these preppers just dont make sence. You would have so much more of a chance retreating into the wilds then uou will hunkering down in some undergeound bunker with nothing to survive on but corn nuts and jerky lol

I guess my problem with the show is that is seeks to do the same demonization that occurs with the snake breeder community. Can you find some of us that think snakes love us and let 20 gaboon vipers run free in there house????Sure but that does not speak for the community and showing them only serves to all that deal with snakes sound crazy!

I believe in being prepared for emergencies. Things like having flashlights and spare food and a means of protection and so on. However, spending all of your time and energy on preparing for some "what if" scenario that is unlikely to happen, IMO, isn't living at all.

To relate this differently, I like to go swimming. But I won't get any enjoyment out of it if I wear a life vest or respirator every time I went to prevent me from drowning. Or wear chain mail every time I step foot in the ocean to prevent shark attack. It's just too much.

When it comes to temporal management:

    1) Learn from the past.
    2) Prepare for the future.
    3) Live in the now.

Life has it's risks and dangers. I choose to not to live in fear of them as much as possible.

    That's my thoughts.
