Corn Snake Refusing Food?
My corn snake has been a great eater ever since I've had him (as most are), though today he refused a F/T fuzzy mouse for the first time. He's been on F/T since I've had him, so he's not used to live. Does anyone know why he's doing this?
Re: Corn Snake Refusing Food?
Some snakes change their minds. My king ate f/t since he was a baby then just decided one day he wanted live instead. Though in your corns case it could be multipule things, thats just one.

Boy, not sure what to tell ya. My corn snake has been a garbage gut since the day we got her. She doesn't miss a meal for anything. We got her as a juvenile, and have had her for about 3 years. Now bps can do that at the drop of a hat though. Maybe she is going in to shed, or maybe temp wasnt right on f/t?
Re: Corn Snake Refusing Food?
How often are you feeding? Did he seem interested in the fuzzy or did he just ignore it completely? Usually young colubrids are little garbage disposals that eat until they explode, but every once in awhile they get picky or decide they're full. My corns have never missed a meal, shed cycle or no shed cycle, and my king only refused a couple times when I first got him and he was still a little nervous. One of my corns does prefer warmer, drier mice though. She'll eat it if it's wet, but she kind of pokes at it with her nose for awhile beforehand, whereas if it's nice and dry she eats it really fast. So sometimes they develop their own silly food preferences. I wouldn't worry about it unless he keeps refusing multiple times, and then you might want to start checking for some sort of illness/husbandry issue.

I feed him once a week. He ignored it completely. How long should I wait until I try feeding him again?
Re: Corn Snake Refusing Food?
How big is he? I only feed our adult every two weeks. Every two weeks she eats 2 mice. And she growns and sheds all the time on that schedule.
