    Re: Crested Gecko Info
Hi, Just wanted to see if anyone could tell me a good site for crested geckos, I'm a huge fan of BP.net but wanted to see if there was a good only crested gecko forum site out there. Also looking to expand into crested geckos very soon and really excited about this due to my reptile room being mostly racks so viewing my ball pythons is limited so my thought was how about some crested geckos. I am looking into the Seri Lanka Exo Terra set up and was thinking I would start with one and maybe get anouther down the road is this enclosure good for up to (2) crested geckos- I do understand not to get 2 males for in one enclosure but was thinking on maybe 2 females poss. down the road. Would this enclosure be ok for 1-2 for their whole life or would I need another one down the road. Any input would help on the site info, Housing in exo terra terrariums and if 2 are too muck for this type of setup. Thought it would bring out a more interesting reptile/snake room. Also would I be ok if the ambient air in my snake room is mostly 84 all the time.. I know they like cooler temps. than my ball pythons and boas. Just thought if the ambient temps are 84 just put the terrarium in the room without any additional heat source. Thanks alot. Please help in my new adventure with these awesome creatures.......

As said above Pangea forums is the best for crested geckos, but you can also find some good info over at geckoforums.net. They lean a little more towards leopard geckos. Repashy forums is also another great gecko forum, lots of information on there but they talk the most about leachianus, but there is plenty of information on crested geckos as well. The only other one I know of is ciliatus.com, but I think they still have a hold on letting in new members for some reason (I forget).

I would recommend the Pangea forums for the most crested gecko specific resources.

The Sri Lanka ExoTerra would be fine for a single male or two females. If you get hatchlings you will need to house them in something smaller for a while though, because they don't do well in larger enclosures when they are small.

84 degrees is too hot. You want to keep it below 80 degrees at all times for cresteds. Anything higher can cause stress, organ failure and death. Ideal temperatures are 75-78 degrees.
